For the past couple of days, many of our users in the United Arab Emirates have been experiencing problems with establishing Gruveo calls, i.e., being unable to connect using either the apps or the website. We have now learned why this was happening - on February 23, 2017, the Gruveo calling functionality was blocked by both of the ISPs in the United Arab Emirates.
Unfortunately, there is not much Gruveo can do about this, but you might be able to influence the situation by speaking to your ISP, asking why they are blocking Gruveo, and requesting that they unblock our services.

This blocking of Gruveo services is a natural consequence of our significant growth in the number of users and established calls in the UAE, as well as worldwide. We have now joined WhatsApp, Viber, Snapchat and other popular apps whose VoIP functionality is blocked in the UAE. It was clear from the start that this would happen to Gruveo; we just didn't know when. We did not receive any official advance notice Gruveo was going to be blocked, which is why we couldn't warn you.
Based on the current situation, we had to pull the Gruveo app from the App Store and Google Play in the UAE as we don't want to confuse users by giving them the option to download the Gruveo app when they wouldn’t be able to use it anyway.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this blocking might have caused you. We are sad to say goodbye to all our UAE users and hope to welcome them back in the future if the block is ever be lifted. Until then, we will keep working on awesome new features for Gruveo, and providing the World's Easiest Video and Voice Calls to the rest of the world.
